Mackenzie initially joined the LifeWorks team as an administrative assistant to our office manager while she pursued her counseling education at Grace College and Theological Seminary and Huntington University. Mackenzie serves as LifeWorks Clinical Director where she oversees the direct clinical care of our clients and provides clinical supervision for our Counseling Professional Team and internship students. Mackenzie is passionate about the overall care of our clients and is a resourceful administrative leader who also works directly with insurance companies to gain the best possible financial outcome for you and your family. As a clinician, Mackenzie focuses her counseling working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. Mackenzie has extensive experience with adolescents and children who have had mental health inpatient experiences and with troubled youth. Mackenzie is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and credentialed as an EMDR therapist through EMDR Consulting. She is entering her third year as a doctoral student advanced intern. Mackenzie loves spending time with her family and friends, being creative in designing things, running, fitness, reading academia, and for pleasure, is active in her local church, and sits on the Board of Directors for the Child Care/Preschool.

Hannah recently graduated from Concordia University Irvine. She brings high energy and a positive attitude to our team culture with a charisma her clients and families have come to really appreciate. Hannah works with clients of all ages and backgrounds and is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Hannah is intentional about creating a safe environment for her clients to find their voice and express themselves freely. She helps cultivate individuality and utilizes multiple Play Therapy modalities to help children process their emotions and thoughts. Her goal is to continue pursuing an endorsement in Play Therapy. In her spare time, Hannah enjoys reading, writing, binge-watching TV shows, hiking, and trying new and fun restaurants.

Beth graduated from Lincoln Christian University with a Master’s in Counseling and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership. Beth enjoys working with couples, families, individuals, and adolescents and is passionate about helping them improve communication and relational health. Beth and her husband have been involved in ministry for the last 12 years, working with couples, families, and teenagers. Currently, she works in her church with middle school students and leads a women’s group. Beth loves helping people incorporate their faith into their healing process and integrating prayer and scripture within the context of counseling when the client is comfortable doing so. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband, kids, and dog. She enjoys playing games, drinking coffee, reading good books, and spending time in genuine conversation. Beth loves the LaPorte area and is super excited to be serving in the community.

Cory joined our team recently to complete his final year of internship before pursuing his licensure in mental health counseling. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Toledo and transferred to Grace College for his graduate program. Cory is drawn to working with individuals and couples who are struggling with relational and life adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, assertiveness, interpersonal boundaries, chronic illness, and spirituality. His passion for helping others has grown out of his own positive experiences with counseling, viewing life challenges as unique opportunities for learning and growth. In his limited spare time, Cory enjoys hiking, biking with his family, and playing the guitar.

Rachel recently joined out team in Warsaw to serve the surrounding areas. She brings a quiet confidence in her passion to help clients learn and appreciate the mind-body connection and integrated health in healing. Utilizing mindfulness skills and self-compassion concepts, she is able to help her clients learn to regulate their emotions and calm their bodies down. Rachel holds the therapeutic relationship in such high regard, creating a relaxed and authentic space for clients to open up and feel safe and heard. In her spare time, Rachel loves spending time with her family and friends, playing board games, hammocking, hiking, and drinking coffee on her balcony.

Shelby joined the LifeWorks team in the Fall of 2019 shortly after she became licensed as a Clinical Social Worker. She graduated from Indiana State University with a Master’s in Social Work and is trained in both Clinical Counseling and Biblical counseling. She has a passion to work with clients who desire to incorporate their faith into the counseling process and has a heart for those exiting incarcerated settings. Shelby primarily works with adults and late adolescents with expertise in areas of childhood and adult trauma, relationship issues, codependency, and addictions. She desires to see others grow into their best self through a holistic counseling approach and the Lord’s healing. Shelby enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and dog, loves nature and camping, hiking, swimming, and biking.

Sharon has been working in the mental health field for over 22 years and brings a savvy and seasoned approach to her clients. She works in both the Fort Wayne & Warsaw offices and approaches counseling from a systemic vantage point. Sharon’s clinical areas of expertise are with relationships and couples, divorce and visitation issues, stepfamilies, co-parenting, childhood sexual abuse and trauma, anxiety and depression, parenting, grief and loss, and coping with a loved one involved in addiction. She also enjoys working with and teaching college students reserving a special place for the college student who struggles to find their way. Sharon has an engaging sense of humor which brings comfort to challenging relationship dynamics and comfort. She is well skilled in Gottman Method Therapy and is a fully certified EMDR Therapist. Sharon loves her family, her two girls, football, fantasy football, music, going to concerts, and cherishes a good laugh.

Kati has been with the LifeWorks team for over 9 years in both administrative and counseling professional roles. She earned a dual Master’s in Science of Education at Indiana University, Fort Wayne in Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. Prior to pursuing a career in mental health, Kati taught at an alternative school for high-risk youth for 6 years. She is a credentialed EMDR Therapist who works with people of all ages and is passionate about healthy marriages, community service responders, law enforcement officers, and their families. She has a natural gift of bringing a sense of “calm” to those around her. She adores her family and dedicates time serving the youth at her church, staying active in the outdoors, running, biking, and reading for pleasure.

Lauren recently joined our team to complete her final year of internship before pursuing her licensure in mental health counseling. Lauren is very passionate and intentional about creating a safe environment providing people space to be themselves and share without fear or judgment. She appreciates that therapy can sometimes be intimidating and works hard to create a calm, inviting environment allowing clients to process freely and openly. Lauren has three years of experience working in a psychiatric hospital where she works with patients experiencing a variety of mental illnesses and challenges. She welcomes working with all ages of clients with different stories, helping them pursue their best life. Lauren loves spending time with her nieces and nephews, baking, gathering with friends and family, being outside kayaking, hiking, and reading a book by the lake.

EJ came to LifeWorks in the Fall of 2019 after a long, meaningful 17 tenure at Warsaw Community Church where he served in Care Ministry, Adult Education, and Pastoral Counseling, and has taught several classes at Grace College & Theological Seminary as an Adjunct Professor. EJ has a Master’s Clinical Psychology from Grace College & Theological Seminary, a Master’s in Secondary Education, and a Master’s in Business. EJ enjoys working with marriages/couples, individuals, men, and late teens. He approaches therapy from a Client-Centered paradigm where he is passionate about helping adults who grew up in dysfunctional and abusive homes. EJ has a positively contagious personality to be around, is a former skydiver, loves hunting, reading, his great-grandchildren, and of course, spending time with his wife of 40+ years.

Peggy graduated from Grace College & Theological Seminary and serves as both a Biblical and Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Peggy approaches therapy from a systemic wellness model helping to bring healing in mind, body, soul, and relationships. She primarily works with adults suffering from depression, marital/couple distress, trauma, self-identity conflicts, issues with motivation, and in the area of spiritual healing. Peggy is an integral team member always looking out for others and opportunities to be uplifting and serve. She enjoys being with her family, friends, and grandchildren. She has discovered a passion for overseas missions and loves serving at her church in various capacities.
