BIOGRAPHY:

Joelle Westra (LMHCA) is a warm and compassionate mental health counselor who brings both professional expertise and a heart for people into every session. Joelle Westra received her Master of Science in Education for Licensed Mental Health Counseling from Purdue University Fort Wayne. She brings a strong foundation of clinical training and hands-on experience to her work with individuals, couples, and children. Joelle also enjoys working with individuals who have experienced fertility issues, postpartum, and other maternal mental health issues.

Joelle is passionate about walking alongside individuals, couples, and children as they navigate emotional challenges and life transitions. Whether working with a child struggling with anxiety, a couple seeking to reconnect, or an individual overcoming trauma, Joelle creates a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe, valued, and heard. Joelle draws from a variety of theoretical orientations, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems, Gestalt Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Her approach is deeply client-centered, focused on empowering individuals to live congruently and build on their internal strengths.

Joelle does well at connecting with clients and enjoys watching the transformation and healing happen in and outside the therapy room. She is a therapist who is passionate about helping others throughout their healing journey and brings both professional expertise and a heart for people into every session.
